Nyjah Huston Overcomes a Slow Start to Reach the Medal Round in Skateboarding

Two of the eight spots in the first-ever Men’s Skateboarding Street Olympic event went to Team USA, which is led by top-ranked skateboarder Nyjah Huston.

After a rocky start in his heat, which included France’s Aurelien Giraud, Huston, 26, regained his form in the final two tricks.

In the first heat of the day, Jagger Eaton of the United States took first place with 35.07 points, advancing with fellow countryman Huston.

Eight skaters will advance to the finals in total.
