Issa Rae has tied the knot.
Over the weekend, the 36-year-old actress married her fiancé Louis Diame in a private wedding ceremony in the South of France.
The ‘Insecure’ star uploaded a series of photos from her wedding on Instagram on Monday (07.26.21) and joked that the wedding shots were courtesy of a “impromptu photoshoot” – despite the fact that her bridesmaids were all wearing the same dress.
She expressed herself as follows: “A) A spur-of-the-moment photo session in a custom @verawanggang gown.
B) My girls came to assist me, but they were all wearing the same dress! They were completely humiliated.
C) After that, I took a few of shots with Somebody’s Husband.
“Thank you so much to @whiteedenweddings for being so gracious and accommodating, making this feel so real and meaningful. (sic)”
Guests apparently came from “near and far” and stayed in a neighboring Saint Jean Cap Ferrat hotel, according to E! Online.
Fans were undoubtedly surprised by Issa’s decision to publicize her new married status, given she is known for keeping her personal life private.
At the time, she stated: “I don’t want any suggestions. You put everything on the table as a writer. If I have children, I’ll listen to suggestions. I’m not sure how I’m not going to kill the kids. Work? Please give me your feedback. Is there anything else in my life? Please give me your feedback. But who am I f****ing with? No, I’m not looking for suggestions. I’m fine.”
The brunette beauty, on the other hand, hasn’t always been so private about her love life.
She went on to say: “Back in the day, I used to post about a long-ago relationship on Facebook.
“And I recall seeing these anonymous people make a comment on an old photo and saying, ‘See.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, this isn’t for me.’ And then I was like, ‘Oh, I’m never admitting anything from here on out.’ “
